Ilkley Grand National 2026

What a fantastic day of competition—congratulations to everyone who rode and represented the club so proudly.

Event Winner
A massive well done to Charlie Cripps on taking the overall win. Charlie is a Bradford & District Motor Club member but competed under Manchester 17 for this event—an outstanding performance.

Top Club Performances
• James Lampkin was our top rider on the day and winner of the Over 40 class—a superb ride considering he does very little trials riding now.
• Anthony Ayrton delivered a brilliant performance to finish 3rd in the Novice class, only beaten by two younger Novice riders—an excellent effort. Mind you he did look a little (No, a lot knackered)

Retirements included Stuart McRink, Karl Hancock, Philip Hancock due to I understand were mechanical issues.

Injuries & Retirements
• Noah Morton Youth rider but due to age could compete as an adult competed for the first time, retired due to injury—wishing him a speedy recovery.

With 51 starters and just 33 finishers within the time set. Well done to everyone who took on the challenge.

Once again, congratulations to Bradford C on their team award victory—a result the whole club can be proud of.

The Ilkley Club deserves a huge thank you for organising another Grand National. We all know the immense effort that goes into preparing the trial. A special shout-out to all the observers and marshals for your invaluable time; without them, the Grand National wouldn’t be possible.
